The CSA nominations were announced January 13, 2014 and included Best Picture Editing in a Documentary Program or Series nomination for Gil Tetreault’s work on the film. The Canadian Screen Awards will be aired on Sunday March 9, 2014 at 8pm on CBC, from the prestigious Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto.Produced by Merit Jensen Carr and highly acclaimed, award-winning Writer/Director/Producer Andy Blicq, Faking the Grade explores the cheating epidemic going on around the world. It is estimated that at least 75 per cent of university students cheated at some point during their high school years. Many continue to do it (and few get caught) once they move on to post-secondary education. And research shows those who cheat in school go on to cheat in life. Those cheaters are everywhere, because ours is a culture where honesty has been de-valued and a win-at-any-costs strategy is encouraged. Faking The Grade aired in Canada on CBC Nov 15, 2012 and in the US on CNBC Dec 5, 2012.Faking The Grade is produced by Merit Motion Pictures in association with CBC's Doczone, with the participation of the Canada Media Fund, Rogers Documentary Fund, the Government of Manitoba – Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit and the Canadian Film and Video Production Tax Credit.[button url="http://meritmotionpictures.com/portfolio-items/faking-the-grade/" color="turquoise" liquid="no"]Project Page[/button]
