Based on Miriam Toew’s book, “Summer of My Amazing Luck”, this ½ hour comedy series finds the humor in life’s hard times. Set in inner-city Winnipeg, a woman by the name of Lucy leads us through her life as a young single mother, alone and penniless, learning the ropes of welfare and “Have-a-Life” (a low income housing project also known as “Half a Life” and her new home). It is here that Lucy meets Lish (a single mother who fell in love with a juggler) and together they embark on the adventure of life beneath society’s radar, and along the way discover the joy of the family you find for yourself.

From ancient Greece and Rome to the Wild West and beyond, Bawdy Houses and Brothels: The Hidden History of Prostitution will present the fascinating stories and hidden lives of prostitutes though the ages. Featuring the groundbreaking work of present day archaeologists and historians whose amazing detective work is quite literally unearthing the past, each show will set out to solve a mystery as it uncovers and recreates the clandestine world of brothels and red light districts revealing the secret, hidden lives of the women who worked there.
Combining high end CGI and dramatic recreations with interviews, archival images and location footage of archaeological sites and investigations shot around the world, this 4 X 1hr. series will quite literally dig up the past as it reveals the secret hidden history of Bawdy Houses and Brothels from around the world.
